Sidney Waterfront
Location: Sidney, BC · Type: Commercial · Mixed Use · Year: 2004
Completed in the summer of 2004, this mixed-use development on Sidney's waterfront gathers a pub-restaurant, commercial retail units and hotel suites along the seaside high street, conceived to make the waterfront an attractive focal point for the town's commercial and tourism life.
The street elevation — gabled storefronts stepping toward a tall corner block carrying the "Sidney Cannery" name — recalls the Saanich Canning Company that anchored the town's harbour from 1904 to 1942.
Elevation drawing from the studio's archive; the firm's photographs of the completed building have not yet been recovered.
